The band is probably pretty understanding about it.
I like how he runs his finger down the front, taking in the cover. I’d be curious to know what he’d think of some of the ones I’ve got. I’m sure there are many mags all over the world that have honoured TWS with a cover story that they weren’t even aware of. Not all are interviews and photo shoots. Some are just write ups and reviews.
If I could choose any one to have signed (which is not normally of too much interest to me), it would have be Venuszine. A women’s art and music magazine that featured him as the very first male to ever grace their cover. What an honour.
"And I shake God’s hand.
I jump up and let her know when I can, this is how I’m gonna do it!”
(Always appreciating, respecting and loving women, he deserved that cover.)
Both are Marvin Magazine, Mexico.
1st one looks like Get Behind me Satan-ish?
2nd looks very Icky Thump.
Don’t have either, darn. Answering back with a photo set would have been fun.
… one day…
Today I saw Ms. Loretta Lynn in Wichita.
She asked the crowd to shout out songs that they would want to hear
I yelled out “Portland” which is a Jack/Loretta duet off the album, Van Lear Rose, that Jack produced for Loretta
She replies: Portland? Oh I can’t sing that one cuz ol Jack White isn’t here!
Jack White from Detroit and Jack White from Buffalo. Someone got their poster idea from an actual 1909-1911 baseball card.
Can anyone explain why there is a weird hotel looking push button phone on stage? I saw it at a few shows now, but never in use.
If everyone else can bring their phone… so can Jack :P
This must be the one he bought a few weeks ago in… Seattle, was it? I can’t remember 100% but he announced it to everyone. We joked about it in the Vault. It was a live feed we were listening to. I guessed rotary (which I actually have a love for) but this is close enough.
Jack White’s “Kanye West-esque rant” during the 9/17/14 show at the Bleacher Theater at Fenway in Boston, MA.
I’m really feeling this, though. Rolling Stone gets more tabloid-y all the time. Some of you have been with me since the beginning of this blog and remember my disappointment in the stone talking about Elson and White’s private business. I know it happens but I never expected it from The Rolling Stone.
Did the rest of you guys also learn something you did not already know, even if be only one thing? My “nugget” was that the same owner of Rolling Stone also owns UsWeekly. Pure trash, that mag. Paparazzi fuelled. Harassing and infringing on every day rights of others… rights that we (the general public) take for granted.
Also, the Kanye West reference, I don’t think, was actually a shot at Kanye. I’m not a fan of Kanye but we’ve all heard Jack speak highly of him in the past. I’m sure this is why he says “… lest it be a rant…” in reference to the fact that you’re not supposed to talk to you fans anymore. It wasn’t a shot. He was drawing a parallel. Beyonce and Jay-Z have important things that they like to cover at their shows as well (or so I hear).
A “rant” would take about 20 minutes. Sharing your perspective through the art your creating and taking advantage of a moment shared with your fans to open their eyes to something they may not have seen otherwise… takes a couple of minutes and creates sparks of energy and a feeling of togetherness.
It creates change.

Unfortunately not. The only way, is if they are somewhere else inside the same Jack White featured magazine. This is possible, however, so… as I have promised others that I would keep a special eye out for Meg, I will do the same for The Kills and it’s members.
I didn’t mean to offend anyone or come off as a preachy hypocrite. I’ve just read a lot of mean things lately.
It actually reminded me of the article that I recently posted where they talk of how offended Jack was from a insensitive comment someone (just one person) made on his appearance. It may seem funny at first but these things hurt feelings… even in the strongest people. I just wanted others to consider it, is all.
An opinion is just that, an opinion… mine included! If it’s something you CAN say it to someone’s face, then awesome, that’s exactly what I was trying to point out. Many have said things they wouldn’t.
It’s the insults that can seem super harsh and I guess it tainted the topic (and Jack White tag) for me a bit. I came on, after work, looking for new tour media and saw mostly just this hair stuff.
I got passionate (same old story).
I really don’t think that people even realize how mean, shallow or unoriginal they are being, when they spew chunks of useless opinions all over something amazing… so that the rest of us have to sift through a lake of virtual verbal vomit in order to get to the purity of what was originally being offered and presented.
(Example: I’m tired of people telling me how pretty my red hair was before I dreaded it. I fucking LOVE my dreads but have to continuously squash negative preconceptions about dreadlocks.)
Jack White is beautiful and a real life and original human being (as are the rest of you) and I love watching him change… especially musically. I just learned that drastic hairstyle changes are often signs of inner change. I’m not joking, here. I can relate. To insult, hate or even cloud the air with repetitive, unimportant and regurgitated ideas…
… is a choice we are all entitled to make, I guess. Wait a minute…
(Start ‘sarcasm’ font here)
Well, then! Ignore everything I said right before that last statement.
If words are just “words” and can be thrown about without the responsibility of saying something to someone’s face (for fear of hurting their feelings and showing our true colours) then why wouldn’t we spend an entire day typing this bullshit into our phones?! Right?!?!
Alright, then, carry on…
If there is one more moment on this planet that I cannot wait for, it’s the one where I get to read another person’s opinion of Jack’s haircut.
*I’m sure the most original and unpredictable person out there will reblog this with theirs… wait for it…*
(End ‘sarcasm’ font here).
Okay, anyone who likes The White Stripes, what are their best albums? I have Elephant and I really enjoy it. Should I just grab a random one, or is there one that I should definitely go to next?
You could choose any and love it for its own reasons but maybe De Stijl? It’s pretty awesome.
(Fats Kaplin loves taking pictures of architecture). We commented on how much the bar reminded us of “The Shining”.
Low and behold… a little while later…

Part 1 of 2: NME, Jack White, “Genius or Madman?”, 2014
Coming up… NME, Jack White, “Genius or Madman?”
Okay, so it’s here, finally. There are two articles. One on Jack himself and one surrounding The White Stripes. I want to make it clear that because I post these, it does not mean that I agree with the articles in any way. This NME is a little sad to read, when they start depicting Jack in a certain way, without any real quotes or real accounts of certain incidences. People said disrespectful things and he was man enough to confront them (is what I am pulling from it). Yet, they don’t capture his words at these moments, for us to read. They just say simple things like “yelling”. Think about it. As well spoken and thoughtful as he has proven to be… why is this the only time they DON’T have record of what he’s said? Because… they had a necessary strip torn off of them after slandering someone they didn’t truly know or that didn’t deserve it. I wish more stars stuck up for themselves this way. They are people.
Anyhow, I’m not here to convince you, I’m just hoping that all sides will be considered. Like I always say… you be the judge.
*Exclusive interviews with the people who understand him best*? (Okay, NME… AKA “ENEMY”… whatever you say…)
